Ideas for Floral Watercolor Projects (in 20 Minutes)

I wanted to share the videos of the pre-spring YouTube season here along with the sketches.

In the YT series, my goal is to provide a 20 minute paint-with-session.

Life is full. It feels as if there is not time to do everything that needs to be done, let alone set aside time for joyful fun. But, investing twenty minutes in a creative hobby such as watercolor painting or embroidery can be a difference maker.

Investing time in creating allows us to stretch in ways we don't normally get to do in daily living. Creativity encourages us to take small risks, to dare to dream, to quiet our hearts to think and rest and pray.

We also realize we are capable of more than we think we are.

I've learned we can do a lot in twenty minutes! If you only painted twenty minutes each week - that is one simple and lovely watercolor sketch - that is 52 paintings a year! It is doable and we do get better as we continue to persist in practicing.

Not only do we grow in skills, there is something wonderful that happens in our interior person when we engage with creativity. It calms us down, on the inside, allows the soul to breathe, think, and stretch.

I hope these twenty minute videos encourage you!

The sketches used will be added here too. Remember, these are watercolor sketches, keep the motion light and fluid. Don't feel the need to fill up every bit of space with color. Try a background on some and leave some backgrounds blank (or add a few splatters). Play, Experiment with different colors. Have fun with the watercolors and let play and dance on the watercolor paper.

Enjoy!
Painting Zinnia's from Carol's Garden
Below is the sketch and video for the zinnias I painted from Carol's beautiful (and prolific) garden. Wandering through her garden was a delight. So many good memories brought back as I went through the pictures and put together this watercolor sketch.
Paint with me in the video below.
Finding Inspiration in Pinterest: A Spring Bouquet
There are so many options on Pinterest! I loved the shape and simplicity of this group of flowers: very much like spring!

Find the pinterest pin I used here (and the vase is for sale if you love it).
